My students will often complain about jeju stereotypes, which in case you don't know, include; riding a horse to school, living in a house (not an apt), living on a farm, and having a grandfather statue out in front of their house. While I can laugh at these with ease, it is a very stark difference in lifestyle even just 20km outside the city. Not that there is something bad about living a lifestyle devoid of McDonalds, 10 story buildings, and concrete jungles.
What I'm trying to say is that leaving Jeju is going to be terrible. And i'm going to cry. And I feel like there is so much to still explore. But its time to move on. DC here I come!
